Directory of Type Specimen Books

I have been working on sorting and organizing all of my metal type lately. Fun fun! Several friends and family members have given me buckets of type over the years (I never accuse them of dumping it to sell the cases, but I do wonder...). Most of the fonts I can identify with the McGrew American Metal Typefaces of the 20th Century, but sometimes I like to look up the fonts in my 1923 ATF Specimen Book and Catalog. This is a gorgeous book, and I love to just flip through the pages and stare.

I decided to see if I could find some more antique specimen books, and I discovered that google books has a lot of them available for free! So, I made a list of all the ones I could find. If you know of any I missed, let me know.

Vintage Stationery + Letterpress

I love buying used boxes of blank vintage stationery from estate sales and auctions. It always has the neatest packaging and such nice quality paper. I found this box recently and decided to make myself some very simple enclosure cards.
